The Falcon Nursing Pathway
Beginning in Fall 2025, high school students entering SPU as freshman with an interest in nursing will be part of the Falcon Nursing Pathway program. The Falcon Nursing Pathway means you're already admitted to SPU's Nursing program - right from the start! Unlike most college nursing programs, you don't have to submit a separate application or wait and wonder if you'll get in. You're already in!
All you need to do is meet the program's applicant eligibility criteria. You'll work with the SPU Nursing team to determine the best time to join a nursing cohort. Students are randomly assigned to either the Fall or Winter cohort, with typically begins in your third year at SPU.
Falcon Nursing Pathway - Applicant Criteria (Starting Fall 2025)
High school students entering SPU as freshman and intending to pursue nursing will be part of the Falcon Nursing Pathway beginning in Fall 2025. To remain eligible for this pathway, students must meet the following criteria:
Eligibility Requirements:
- Nursing Intended students who begin at SPU as Freshman, must take all nursing pre-requisite courses, and all general education courses at SPU
- All nursing pre-requisite courses and general education requirements must be completed at SPU
- Students may transfer up to three general education courses, but nursing pre-requisite courses must be taken at SPU
Program Process:
- Each January, all Nursing Intended students will receive an email with the Intent & Readiness Form. This form allows students to update their academic progress and confirm their intention to enter the nursing program.
- As long as eligibility requirements are maintained, no separate application is required to enter the nursing program
- Students will be randomly assigned for an Autumn or Winter quarter cohort program start to ensure balanced enrollment
Criteria for Beginning the Nursing Program
To begin the nursing program at SPU through the Falcon Nursing Pathway, students must meet the following academic and conduct standards:

- A grade of "C" (2.0) or higher in all pre-requisite courses
- No more than two repeated courses due to grades below a "C" (2.0)
- Courses repeated to improve GPA, where the original grade was a "C" (2.0) or higher, do not count as repeats
